Process for Auto Renewal under Contract Labour Act

Overview

An Act to regulate the employment of contract labour in certain establishment and to provide for its abolition in certain circumstances and matters connected therewith. It applies

a.To every contractor who employs or who employed on any day of the preceding twelve months fifty or more workmen.

b. It shall not apply to establishments in which work only of an intermittent or casual nature is performed.

Auto Renewal of license Every application for the Renewal of License under Assam Rules 29 shall be made in the EODB Portal and shall contain other particulars as may be prescribed.

Eligibility Criteria:

Any entrepreneur/applicant having a valid license of a contractor issued in Form VI can apply for renewal under the Act.

Guidelines for Filing up the form

  • The relevant information in Form 'VII' in (triplicate for manual submission) is to be filled up in Block Letters with Black Ink.
  • The application for Renewal of the license shall be made not less than 30 days before expiry of the license.
  • The application for periodic renewal of the license should be accompanied by the original License issued in Form VI.
  • If no work is executed by the contractor than a no work certificate should accompany the application of Renewal

Fee including the payment mode

Rule 26. Fees – (2) The fees to be paid for grant of renewal of license under Section 12 shall be as specified below:-

If the number of workmen employed by the contractor on any day-

(a) is 10 Rs. 300.00
(b) exceeds 10 but does not exceed 20 Rs. 500.00
(c) exceeds 20 but does not exceed 50 Rs. 700.00
(d) exceeds 50 but does not exceed 100 Rs. 1200.00
(e) exceeds 100 but does not exceed 200 Rs. 1400.00
(f) exceeds 200 but does not exceed 300 Rs.1800.00
(g) exceeds 300 but does not exceed 400 Rs. 2200.00
(h) exceeds 400 Rs. 2700.00
