Process for Certification of Standing Order
1. Where is applicable?
- In every establishment where 10 or above workmen are employed on any day.
2. Who can apply
- Employers of every Industrial establishment where the Act is applicable.
3. How to apply ?
- In prescribed format, Form A,B,C, & F alongwith Draft Standing Order (5 copies) may be prepared based on the model standing order under Section 7 of the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946.
4. Whom to apply?
- The Labour Commissioner, Assam is notified as the Certifying Officer under the Act.

5. Procedure for Certification
- On receipt of the draft the Certifying Officer shall forward a copy thereof to the trade union, if any, or where there is no such trade union, to the workmen in Form No.D
- Union/workmen who desire to make any objection in the draft standing orders may submit representation within fifteen days from the receipt of the notice.
